Bill Burns was named Chief Executive Officer, Zebra Technologies in March 2023. Bill has more than 30 years of experience in the technology sector, and he joined Zebra Technologies in 2015. In his prior role as Chief Product & Solutions Officer, he oversaw the strategy, investments, and development of Zebra’s expansive portfolio of products and solutions. During his tenure, Bill has extended Zebra’s market share leadership across its core businesses while entering adjacent and expansion markets, delivered on the company’s Enterprise Asset Intelligence vision, and strengthened Zebra’s strategic relationships with its customers and partners. Before joining Zebra, Bill served as Chief Executive Officer of Embrane, a Silicon Valley-based venture capital backed startup which was acquired by Cisco in April 2015. Prior to joining Embrane, Bill served as Chief Executive Officer of Spirent Communications, a global leader in test and measurement solutions publicly traded on the London Stock Exchange. He has also held various executive and sales leadership roles at Tellabs, Inc. Bill has an MBA from Temple University, a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Misericordia University, and an Associates Degree in Engineering from Pennsylvania State University.
Nathan Winters was named Chief Financial Officer, Zebra Technologies in January 2021 following his role as acting CFO, which he assumed in August 2020. Nathan has more than 20 years of experience in the financial sector, and he joined Zebra Technologies in 2018. Prior to his role as Zebra’s CFO, Nathan served as the company’s Vice President of Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis and Business Operations. During this time, Nathan was responsible for the Corporate FP&A function and all Commercial, Product and Supply Chain finance teams across Zebra’s portfolio, delivering decision support and business insights, disciplined deal execution, performance management and financial planning for the company. Before joining Zebra, Nathan served in financial roles for GE for more than 16 years where he held multiple CFO positions, most recently serving as CFO of GE Healthcare Global Supply Chain. Nathan has a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics from the University of Kentucky. In addition to being the executive sponsor for Zebra’s Asian Employee Resource Group, Nathan serves on the board of directors for the Junior Achievement of Chicago and accounting advisory board for the University of Kentucky Gatton College of Business and Economics.
Robert (Rob) Armstrong was named Chief Marketing Officer, Zebra Technologies in March 2023. Rob has nearly 20 years of experience in the B2B technology sector, and he joined Zebra in 2014. In his prior role as Senior Vice President of Integrated Marketing & Channels, Rob oversaw go-to-market strategy and downstream marketing execution for the full Zebra portfolio, inclusive of customer segment, product, and digital marketing; channel and brand strategies; media relations; pricing; and analytics. Rob leads a diverse, high-performing team of marketing and channel professionals to drive preference globally and evolve the perception of the Zebra brand in over 100 countries in collaboration with more than 10,000 partners in Zebra’s growing channel ecosystem. Before joining Zebra, Rob held various global and regional roles across product development, business development, operations, and marketing at Motorola Solutions, including assignments in Asia Pacific and Europe. Rob has a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Notre Dame, and he currently serves as a board member for Bernie’s Book Bank and FIRST Illinois Robotics. He is also the executive sponsor of ZEAL, the Zebra Equality Alliance Employee Resource Group and serves on the Forbes Communications Council.
Matt Ausman was named Chief Information Officer, Zebra Technologies in August 2022 following his role as acting CIO, which he assumed in March 2022. He has nearly 20 years of experience in the IT sector, and he joined Zebra Technologies in 2021. Prior to his role as Zebra’s CIO, Matt served as the company’s Vice President of Enterprise Solutions. As CIO, Matt is responsible for the company’s digital systems with the objective of driving productivity across the enterprise and delivering transformational capabilities that improve the employee and customer experience. Before joining Zebra, Matt served in IT roles through which he led increasingly broad digital transformations at GE Healthcare, GE Power and GE Capital. He has an MBA from Emory University and a Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering and business administration from the University of Florida. Matt is an executive sponsor for Zebra’s Women in Technology Group and is actively involved in the company’s inclusion and diversity efforts. Tom Bianculli was named Chief Technology Officer, Zebra Technologies in September 2016. He has more than 25 years of experience in engineering, business, customer research and design functions, and he joined Zebra in 2014 when the company acquired the Motorola Solutions’ Enterprise Business. Tom is responsible for the exploration of emerging opportunities plus coordinating with product teams on advanced technology development, product and solutions strategy as well as inorganic investments. Prior to his role as Zebra’s CTO, he served as Vice President of Zebra’s Emerging Technology Office. Before joining Zebra, Tom held positions of increasing responsibility with Symbol Technologies and Motorola Solutions including architecture and engineering leadership roles. He has master’s and bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering from New York University. Tom has testified before Congress as part of the “Disrupter Series on IoT, Manufacturing and Innovation." He is a named inventor on more than 20 U.S. patents and is a Zebra Distinguished Innovator and Science Advisory Board associate. Tom also serves on the board of directors for the New York Institute of Technology School of Engineering and the Tesla Science Center at Wardenclyffe Board.
Michael (Mike) Cho joined Zebra Technologies as Chief Strategy Officer in 2010, and he has more than 25 years of experience in business development. He is responsible for strategy, M&A, and venture investments. Prior to joining Zebra, he served as Vice President of Business Development for the healthcare division of Amcor and CommScope. He was also a management consultant with McKinsey Company, Accenture, and PwC. Mike has an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Illinois. He is the executive sponsor for the Zebras of African Descent Employee Resource Group.
Tamara (Tami) Froese was named Chief Supply Chain Officer, Zebra Technologies in November 2022 following her role as acting CSCO which she assumed in August 2022. Tami has more than 20 years of experience in supply chain, manufacturing, engineering and transformation, and she joined Zebra Technologies in 2020. She is responsible for the company's end-to-end supply chain globally, including the strategic direction and execution of Zebra’s procurement, operational excellence, transportation, manufacturing, distribution, repair and technical operations teams. Prior to her role as Zebra’s CSCO, Tami served as Vice President of Global Procurement. Before joining Zebra, she served in various leadership roles at General Motors, with an extensive focus on procurement, supply chain and cost management. Tami has an MBA from Oakland University and a bachelor’s degree in supply chain management from Michigan State University. Tami is a recipient of the Supply & Demand Chain Executive 2022 Women in Supply Chain award and volunteers as a mentor to young women in business.
Richard Hudson was named Chief Revenue Officer, Zebra Technologies in November 2023 following his role as Senior Vice President and General Manager for Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) which he assumed in 2017. He has over 20 years of experience in the technology sector. As CRO, Richard is responsible for the sales and services of products and solutions globally. Prior to joining Zebra, he held various roles with increasing responsibility including Vice President, EMEA Channels and Solutions at Motorola. Richard has built a strong track record as a trusted advisor to customers and partners in Zebra’s vibrant core as well as our high-growth adjacent and expansion markets. Richard has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Brunel University London.
Cristen Kogl was named Chief Legal Officer, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary, Zebra Technologies in September 2018. She has more than 30 years of experience in technology law and as a corporate generalist, and she joined Zebra Technologies in 2015. She provides actionable legal advice to drive business outcomes and oversees Zebra’s legal function, the compliance office, privacy office, environmental health and safety, and government affairs. Prior to joining Zebra, Cristen served as an executive of National Express LLC, W.W. Grainger, Inc., The ServiceMaster Company and Spyglass, Inc. She has a juris doctorate from the University of Wisconsin Law School and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Lake Forest College. Cristen is the executive sponsor for the Zebras of All Abilities Employee Resource Group (ERG) and co-sponsor of The Green Herd ERG and Zebra’s ESG program. Colleen O’Sullivan joined Zebra Technologies in August 2016 as Chief Accounting Officer, and she has more than 30 years of experience in accounting and finance. She ensures complete and compliant financial results, supports the due diligence and financial integration for M&A activity, and oversees all technical accounting and internal control program management. Prior to joining Zebra, Colleen held various finance and accounting leadership roles at Career Education, Hewitt Associates, and Sears, and she was an audit partner with Arthur Anderson. Colleen is a Certified Public Accountant and has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Illinois. Colleen is an executive sponsor of the Zebra Parents and Caregivers Group and Women’s Inclusion Network.
Jeff Schmitz was named Chief People Officer, Zebra Technologies in March 2023. He has more than 30 years of experience in technology, engineering and marketing, and he joined Zebra Technologies in 2016. In his previous role as Chief Marketing Officer, Jeff launched Zebra’s award-winning PartnerConnect program and led the company’s first major brand refresh. In 2020, Jeff also took on the role of Chief Human Resources Officer. As CMO/CHRO, he focused on attracting, retaining and developing top talent and creating opportunities for growth and development within Zebra’s inclusive culture and diverse workforce, and he continues to focus on these areas today as Chief People Officer. Prior to joining Zebra, Jeff served as General Manager and held other leadership roles at Spirent Communications, Visual Networks and Tellabs. He has a master’s degree in computer science from the Illinois Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and computer science from Marquette University. Joe White was named Chief Product & Solutions Officer, Zebra Technologies in March 2023. He has more than 20 years of experience in the automatic identification and data capture (AIDC) industry, and he joined Zebra in 2014 when the company acquired the Motorola Solutions’ Enterprise Business. In his previous role as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the company’s Enterprise Mobile Computing Business, he led the advancement of Zebra’s mobile computing and warehouse automation strategy. Prior to joining Zebra, Joe served in executive positions at Motorola Solutions, Symbol, Matrics, RFID Global Solutions, CAIS Internet and Digex. He has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Maryland. Joe is a named inventor on several patents and serves on the Board of Celcy which builds robotic smart cooking appliances. He is also the recipient of the 2019 Richard Dilling Award for his advocacy of innovation within the AIDC industry and the U.S. Department of Defense’s Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Patriot Award for his support of employees serving in the National Guard and Reserve.
